Always keeping an eye out for fresh new talent is the uber-cool Dkay who draws in the production expertise of fellow Austrian countrymen Concept & Shnek for the tenth release on his own Brigand Recordings. ‘Dreamin’ is a crispy 2-stepping piece with a smooth female vox that cuts over the start before an organ led b-line kicks in and dreamy piano licks carry us away. Definitely one for the deeper, more soulful heads though hard enough to pack a punch on the dance floor. No doubt this has done the damage at D Kay’s ‘Beat It’ night in Vienna where the two are residents. The B-side is simply gorgeous. ‘Electrify’ features more warm sounding beats and sweet guitar slides that build to a drop of melodic bass and more pepperings of a subtle electric guitar riff. Add a sexy vocal sample into the mix and it’s a winner. Fans of the Matrix & Futurebound sound should lap this one up.
